Reflections on Children in the New Year There's just something about the little ones that warms my heart and soul. So I was happy to hear how lovingly Pope Benedict the XVI included the children in his message for the Celebration of the World Day of Peace on New Year's Day: "I invoke peace upon children, who by their innocence enrich humanity with goodness and hope, and by their sufferings compel us all to work for justice and peace on New Year's Day, January 1, 2007." Click Here for Complete Text of Holy Father's Message Who deserves peace more than a child? It is so unfair that children should suffer at all, yet their suffering is tragically widespread. I hope you'll join me in starting the New Year and throughout 2007 by keeping children close to your hearts in thought and deed. They are the heart and soul of our world, whom the Holy Father acknowledged so graciously. I will also keep each of you, the heart and soul of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, in my thoughts and prayers throughout the coming New Year. Sincerely, Claudia R. Bosch National Regent |
