Ceremonial Robes: Significance of the Colors By Past National Regent and National Robes Chairman Helene Shepard
Wearing ceremonial robes in the Catholic Daughters of the Americas has been a long tradition in our organization. They have added dignity to all our ceremonies. The colors that we use for our organization are purple, white and gold. They are the liturgical colors. We also use blue, red and white for the book officers. They are the colors of our Country. We are all about God and Country. Those who do not have robes wear white for uniformity. It has become past practice. We are in the process of studying the continued use of the robes on all three levels. The committee will be meeting in New York City at the National Office to complete the tally of the robe survey at the end of April. At that time we will have all the information in front of us. We will sort it out and report to our National Regent, Emily and her Board. The National Board will inform you of the decision and the rationale for the decision
