After a week of business meetings held by the National Board, a Mass
of Thanksgiving in honor of National Regent Emily Guilherme on Friday, September 8, in Ontario, California, in her honor, followed by an Appreciation Banquet. Mass was celebrated by National Chaplain Father Shenan J. Bouqet with Fr. Gerardo Mendoza and Fr. Emmanuel Ukaegbu-Onuoha among the con-celebrants. Secretary to National Regent Susan Killian and her daughter Angela Parisis organized the events. National, state and local court officers from across the country joined friends and family to offer their support. Emily addressed the gathering passionately and at times tearfully about her journey from a “young girl from Portugal” to becoming National Regent and she thanked the many people who helped and guided her along the way. National Regent-Elect Susan Moné spoke and presented her with gifts from the National Board including a beautiful symbol of the Mustard Seed which will be Emily’s theme. Susan spoke of how proud the board was and pledged their support.
